34 Injured in Explosion at Wedding Ceremony in Rural Daraa

The Daraa Health Directorate announced that 34 people were injured as a result of an explosion that occurred on Friday evening, December 12, 2025, during a wedding ceremony in the town of Abdin in western rural Daraa.
In a statement, the Directorate said that the final toll reached 34 injured individuals, including 7 children, with 3 cases reported in critical condition.
Regarding the nature of the explosion, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) quoted the Mayor of Maariya and Abdin, Muwaffaq Mahmoud, as saying that “unknown individuals threw two hand grenades directly at the wedding venue, resulting in injuries among a number of attendees.”
Meanwhile, the Mukhtar of Abdin, Jamal Al-Ibrahim, stated that an Israeli patrol consisting of three vehicles positioned itself west of the nearby village of al-Arida following the explosion. He clarified that the patrol did not approach the site of the incident and remained at its usual deployment location.
