The Syrian Ministry of Agriculture has announced the launch of steps to integrate agricultural institutions in the Hasaka Governorate in implementation of the January 29 agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
In a statement published through its official platforms on Saturday, June 6, 2026, the ministry said that a meeting bringing together Hasaka Agriculture Director Hayel al-Kalash and Mazloum Hassan, who was assigned by the Agriculture Authority of the Autonomous Administration, discussed the development of a comprehensive plan for the integration process based on specific standards and priorities.
The ministry stated that it was decided to begin with the integration of the Directorate of Agriculture as the first step in the process. The meeting also addressed mechanisms for distributing agricultural inputs among agricultural departments and ways to market agricultural crops.
Discussions further covered the necessary procedures for receiving the wheat harvest and coordination mechanisms to ensure the smooth operation of procurement and marketing processes, contributing to the success of the agricultural season.
On January 29, the Syrian government and the SDF signed an agreement outlining a mechanism for the integration of military and administrative institutions between the two sides as part of the restructuring of Syrian state institutions.
