Syrian Petroleum Company Reinstates 200 Dismissed Employees and Hires Hundreds in Deir Ez-Zour

The Syrian Petroleum Company announced a series of measures to recruit new staff and reinstate dismissed employees as part of its plans to strengthen the workforce at its various sites in Deir Ez-Zour Governorate.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the company announced that it had hired 400 security personnel, reinstated 200 previously dismissed employees, and recruited 70 engineers and technicians as well as 85 workers for various sites and support services across the province during the recent period. According to the statement, these measures come as part of the company's commitment to strengthening its partnership with local communities in its areas of operation.

The company affirmed that it will continue implementing initiatives aimed at supporting the people of Deir Ez-Zour, expanding employment opportunities, and improving living conditions, alongside ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and develop the oil and gas sector and enhance its operational efficiency.

The company also noted that it has awarded bonuses to a number of workers in the oil fields in Deir Ez-Zour, in recognition of their efforts to maintain production despite operational conditions, which it described as requiring “a high degree of commitment and responsibility.”

In a related context, it emphasized to the contractors and subcontractors working with it the need to give priority to Deir Ez-Zour residents in available job opportunities "in a way that contributes to supporting local expertise and enhancing economic and social stability in the region and linking rehabilitation projects to the needs of the local community.”

The statement noted that these measures form part of broader efforts to promote local employment and support the development of the oil sector in the company's areas of operation.
