The Syrian Agricultural Cooperative Bank has issued a circular outlining a new payment mechanism for wheat delivered during the current harvest season, in accordance with approved payment ceilings and instructions from the Syrian Grain Establishment.
According to Syrian media reports on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, farmers whose wheat deliveries are valued at up to 1 million new Syrian pounds will receive the full amount in a single cash payment. For deliveries valued between 1 million and 5 million new Syrian pounds, farmers will receive 1 million pounds in cash, while the remaining balance will be paid in three equal monthly installments.
The circular further states that deliveries valued at more than 5 million new Syrian pounds will be paid in four equal monthly installments.
It also stipulates that any outstanding debts owed to the Agricultural Bank by suppliers will be deducted from the value of the wheat delivered to state procurement centers.
Earlier, the Syrian Grain Establishment launched an online platform requiring farmers to book delivery appointments in advance, aiming to streamline wheat procurement and speed up collection procedures.
